Hi,

i am am new to this.

just a brief outline of my situation. I had a full hysterectomy, removal of uterus, Fallopian tubes, ovaries and lymph nodes a month ago.

I have been told that everything went well and the lymph nodes were clear.

but I now have to have 6 sessions of chemo and 4 sessions of radiotherapy.

I have just read horrible comments about the pain after chemo and am even more terrified than I was before.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

That's great that your surgery went well but I'm sorry to read that you're terrified of having chemo. I think it's natural to be worried about something we've never experienced before but hopefully talking to others in the community who have had chemo will help to reassure you.

The online community is divided up into different support groups so if you tell me what type of cancer you are being treated for I can give you a direct link to a group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support. Alternatively you could look through this list and choose the one that's right for you.

Once you've joined a group you can introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
