Hi
I am new to the group. In the last 18months my whole world has been turned upside down. My dad (66) was diagnosed with terminal throat cancer last year & passed away in September 2020, there was no treatment available for him unfortunately. In January of this year my mum (66) was also diagnosed with terminal throat cancer, at the moment she is going through treatment just to give us some more time. In June of this year my husband (44) was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the stomach, colon, bowel & spine. My husband has always been a very hard woeking man & so independent. I have given up my job as a home support worker to take care of my husband & our 3 children. I struggle every day to keep on top of everything & i am so scared of being left on my own! I feel as though i have no-one thar i can talk to about how frustrated i feel, is this normal?
Hi
I'm sorry to read all that you've been through and are still going through over these last 18 months and it's no wonder that you feel that your world has turned upside down.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend some that you might benefit from joining. They are the:
They are all great places to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join all or any of them just click on the links I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about both your husband's and mum diagnoses and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
