Hello my name is Fancy and I was just recently told I have a 2.5 cm spot on my liver, I also was told I have hepatitis C and cirrhosis of the liver. I have never been a big drinker. But I am a diabetic and I have heart problems. I have three stents in a balloon in my heart, I have neuropathy in my feet and legs for my diabetes. I want to do bypass surgery on some veins in my legs to give me better circulation and that’s what they were getting ready to do when they discovered the spot on my liver. They also discovered three small spots on my right lung. I am scared of what they’re going to tell me about my liver. I’m waiting on my insurance to approve the biopsy and a pet scan. I am in the process of moving to another state, my husband bought me a one story house In Indiana and sold our house in Texas that was a two-story. I am so many hopes and dreams that I want to do. I’m just lost and don’t know what to do.

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community.

I am so sorry to read about your ongoing diagnosis but I hope you will find the support available in the community helpful at this difficult and challenging time.

It’s important to understand that Macmillan Cancer Support and the Macmillan Online Community is UK based with most of its members based in the UK so the information you will see is based on treatments and on the whole people being treated in our National Health Service so most people are not dealing with health insurance issues as our NHS is covered by our government taxes so it’s free at point of need.

Talking with others who are walking the same type of cancer treatment path will help you navigate this unwanted journey.

The New to Community is like the Community Reception area and as there are many cancer types and experiences so likewise the Community has many support groups.

I am not clear as to the type of cancer you are being investigated for but you can look through this list and choose the appropriate cancer group for you as this will be a good place for you to connect with other folks who may be on the same cancer treatment pathway.

Navigating the community will depend on the device you are using. To join a group just click on the group link then scroll down and choose 'click to join' or 'join' on the page that opens.

You can then introduce yourself by putting up a post by clicking  on ‘New Thread’ or ‘New here, say hello’ then hit the box with the X on the top right (phones).

You could just copy and paste the text from this your first post and you can also join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.

To find information covering diagnosis, treatments and pages covering most types of cancers check our Online Information and Support Section

    All the very best ((hugs))
