VIN 3

Hello all, I was diagnosed with VIN 3 5 years ago. I had a biopsy and then a wide local excision.

The itching is still there and does not seem to be getting any better. I haven’t been back to see my consultant as the last appointment in May 2020 was cancelled due to Covid.

My GP did a further referral about 6 months ago, but I’ve still not received an appointment and to be honest don’t expect to anytime soon.

I’ve used so many creams, ointments and steroid and nothing makes the itching any better. All of these prescribed by the GP.

I’ve also developed the same itching in the anal area and that is more persistent than the vulva itching.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read about the itching you're experiencing. It must be very unpleasant.

I can't give you any advice, other than to speak to your GP again to chase up the referral, but I can see that you've already joined the vulva cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support, and I'm sure if you post there you'll get advice on what others did when they itching.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
