Hi I'm new here and wanted to reach out.

My journey began at the beginning of June followed by a diagnosis in July and mastectomy in August.   My journey has began and its devastating and terrifying. I'm overwhelmed with everything at the moment.

Someone recommended you.  Nights are my worst too many dark thoughts going round in head

  • Hi  welcome to the community and I am so sorry you find yourself here.  A lot can happen very quickly and we just get swept along with it focusing on one day after the other and then suddenly we reach the end and for many that is when they suddenly begin processing all that has happened.

The good news is that you should be cancer free now so try to focus on that and continue to take it one day at a time.  It can take some time for the shock of it all to wear off and for you to find your new normal, but you will.

If you find yourself awake at night and unable to sleep you can try posting on the AWAKE thread HERE There is often someone on there even in the early hours sometimes.  Just pop on and say hello, you will get a very warm welcome from lots of lovely ladies.  I found it extremely helpful when I was going through all the waiting for results and treatment etc.

There is also an article by a psychologist that lots of ladies find useful called after the treatment finishes then what. Click HERE to access it.

Keep reaching to people on this site you will find it very supportive.

Hope you have a better night tonight.

    Sending hugs x

  • I forgot to say that you might be better off posting on the breast Cancer forum which is usually very active.  Click HERE
