I have recently been diagnosed with surface Ta high grade bladder cancer following TURBT, now been booked in for re-resection as a 'belt and braces' as they put it.  Just wondering if anyone else has had this at all?

  • Hi and a warm welcome to the Online Community. I'm sorry to read of your diagnosis but you’ve come to the right place to talk to other people who have been or are in the same situation and help you get through this.

The Online Community is divided in to support group for each type of cancer so I'm going to suggest you join our Bladder cancer group where you'll be able to connect with others making the same cancer journey. I'm also tagging the Community Champ of the group, , who'll be along to say hello.

It’s always helpful to other members if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep writing the same thing over and over. You can amend or update it at any time.

To find more information covering diagnosis and treatments there are pages covering most types of cancers which can be found on our Online Information and Support Section

Macmillan Support Services also offer lots of information, support, financial guidance or just someone to listen. It’s free to call 0808 808 0000. Most services are available 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Have a look by Clicking here to see what is available and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two to three working days for replies from our expert team.

Sending you welcoming hugs B xx

Hi MrsBJH thanks ever so much for your reply and helpful information, I have just joined the group as you suggest and appreciate you tagging in the Community Champ of the group.  What a great response and so quick, I have been worrying so much and getting the anxious dread over and over but I am sure everyone has experienced this at some time so looking forward to chatting with others it really helps.

All the best, Dolphina Slight smile

Hi MrsBJH, I just wanted to check you did receive my message as I haven't had any response from rily the community champ of the group so wondered if I am doing something wrong when posting/messaging?  Any help very much appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Dolphina

  • Hi . Sorry for the delayed response, but I have only just come across this. I see you have joined the Bladder Cancer Group , but not posted there yet. Click the link to get to the group. When you are there, at the top right of the page you should see "New" or (plus sign) depending on what you are using. This will open up a new page for you. Introduce yourself to the group with a bit of background as to what you have had done so far. Lots of experience in the group who will be able to support and guide you through things. Rather than go in to treatment details here, I will wait for you to post in the group. Any problems finding your way around, click the reply button below to ask. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

Hi rily, no problem at all and thanks for coming back to me, I thought I must have been doing something wrong.  I have now followed your advice and hopefully it has now worked.

    Thank you again
