Hello my name is mandy x

In April I had 2 lumps and the left part of my thyroid removed x they said we don't call it cancer anymore cause it can't spread. They sent the lumps off for testing as they were suspicious. On seeing my consultant again she said she was shocked to tell me it is cancer but I caught it early x having tests every couple of months to check for further lumps on my thyroid x while this was going on a noticed a small pimple on my nose by my eye x  nothing I did helped this pimple x spoke to my doctor who referred me to a dermatologist x they said it a 3mm skin cancer and am booked in to have it removed x am I just unlucky or is 2 different cancers normal. They said the skin cancer is nothing do  with my thyroid cancer . Feeling very confused at the moment and alone even though I have a lot of support x

    Hi Mandy

I'm sorry to read that after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer you now have to have a skin cancer removed.

As you know the online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you come and join us in either the skin cancer group or the melanoma group, depending on what the dermatologist thinks you might have. The first group mainly has people who have or might have basal cell carcinoma (BCC) or squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) whereas the second one is for people who have been diagnosed with melanoma or are waiting to see if a skin cancer that is going to be removed is melanoma. If you're not sure which of these to join then I'd start with the skin cancer group.

To join just click on the link I've created and then join and post in the same way as you did in the thyroid cancer group. I'll keep my eye out for you posting.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
