Hi, I’ve just been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. I had viral type symptoms for a couple of months and couldn’t understand why I wasn’t getting back to full health. I had blood tests done on Monday morning and by Monday night I was in hospital being told I could have blood cancer.
2 days later, after a bone marrow biopsy, it was confirmed and my whole world came crashing down around me.
I’ll be in hospital for at least a month while I complete my first round of chemo. Not being able to hold my babies is killing me.
Any words of positivity at this stage would be greatly appreciated x
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I recognise the feeling of your world coming crashing down on being told you have cancer but it's great that you've found this community as you'll find lots of people to support you.
I can see that you've already joined and posted in the AML group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and give and receive support.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment in your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
x
