Just making contact and setting up . Diagnosed in February 2021 after waiting since November 2020 for result of CT scan and back pain…

I have myeloma and currently experiencing neurophatic pain in my feet and finger tips and side of mouth….  Awaiting stem cell consultation . Not wanting to read or hear too many stories as i need to make my own decision based on how I currently feel and my personal circumstances . But the diagnosis came from nowhere as i was minding my own business .

Take care for now.

Will check in with you again

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community but so sorry to hear about your Myeloma diagnosis and that you are looking down the SCT tunnel. Although I have a rare type of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma I have had two Allo (donor) SCTs and it basically saved my life.

Talking with others who are walking or have walked the same type of journey will help you navigate this difficult time.

The Community has many support groups so can I recommend you join our supportive Stem cell transplant and Myeloma groups as these will be good places to connect with patients and family on the same treatment pathway.

To join a group just click on the link above then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens.

You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘New Thread’ or hit the box with the X on the top right (phones), you could just copy and paste the text from this your first post. You can also join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.

I will keep an eye open for you.

Thank you for taking the time to make contact . I have now joined the myleoma group and will seek to join the stem cell one. Thank you

  • Good to hear from you. Stem Cell Transplant is a rather unique journey that people from many blood cancers follow.

It makes no difference what type of blood cancer - the journey is basically the same so lots of lived experience in the group.

I will keep an eye open for you - all the best.
