I was diagnosed with breast cancer last Thursday, I'm 45 yrs old and have a 24yr old man and a 22yr old man, my eldest has downs syndrome.
My question is I have 2 options, 1 is a full removal of lymph nodes and lump then chemo and radiotherapy which could leave me with the possibility of having Lymphedema and as I'm right handed it could cause an issue, 2 to have chemo then remove 3 nodes and lump then radio. As some of might have had this option I would like your opinion on what I should do.
Hi and welcome to the Online Community but so sorry to hear about your BC diagnosis.
A cancer diagnosis can be very challenging but talking with others who are walking the same type of cancer journey will help you navigate this difficult time.
The community is made of specific support groups so can I recommend you join our supportive Breast cancer and Breast cancer for the under-50s groups as these will be good places to connect with patients and family on the same cancer treatment pathway.
To join a group just click on the link above then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens.
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘New Thread’ or hit the box with the X on the top right (phones), you could just copy and paste the text from this your first post. You can also join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.
