Hi all, Macmillan was recommended to me, for support as a family member, of someone battling cancer. Dad has been very unwell since end of last year. About 9 weeks in now since chemo treatment started. Hes not one to accept help from a place like Macmillan.. I'm doing my best to support him, but finding it so hard, emotionally. Its heartbreaking seeing him so poorly. I don't know what to say, so just take his lead, listen and try to stay positive.
Hi and welcome to the community. Sorry to hear about your Dad. We know how hard it is seeing a loved one affected by cancer. Your Dad sounds like a strong person and is trying to keep things to himself without worrying others. We know this does not work, but you just need to be there for him when he needs it. We have a very supportive group here, Family and Friends . There you will find others supporting family members and who understand. If you need to know anything about Pancreatic cancer, you may like to look at the Pancreatic Group where people with experience will be able to answer any questions. Click the highlighted links to get to the groups. If you have any difficulties finding your way around the site, click the reply button below to ask. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
