Hi - I have been diagnosed with breast cancer and on 11th June underwent a right side mastectomy.

I’m a primary school teacher and mum to 3 boys (one with SEND).

It has been a whirlwind few weeks as I only discovered the lump during the Easter holidays.

Waiting for the results of the sentinel node biopsy - I go back to hospital for this on 24th June - feeling scared about what the outcome of this will be but trying to remain positive!

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community but sorry that you had to find us. I am especially sorry to hear about your Breast Cancer diagnosis.

A cancer diagnosis can be very challenging but talking with others who are walking the same type of cancer journey will help you navigate this difficult time. I see you have joined and posted in our supportive Breast cancer group as this will be a good place to connect with patients and family on the same cancer treatment pathway.

It’s always good to talk so do call the Macmillan Support Services on 0808 808 00 00 - most services are open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week Clicking here to see what is available. This service provides lots of cancer information, support, financial guidance or just a listening ear.
