hi! i'm sans, or sam, but you can call me revenant if you want.
so, a little about the title. i had two moms. i lost one in 2016 after a 10 year fight with breast cancer, which hit stage 4 and metastasized everywhere. as of today, it has also been two months since my bio-mom died of liver cancer. it has been three, to the day, since she was diagnosed.
i had my appendix out last month, and I thought that would be the end of all of the mayhem. nope; guess who, just today, has now been diagnosed with multiple neuroendocrine tumors? yeah, me. :( - apparently this family isn't very lucky. maybe it means someone else doesn't have to deal with it, if I do. if I've saved even one person somehow from a worse fate (not that i'd know how to do so, but let's pretend) then i'll take comfort in that.
they're on the 'benign side', but the doctors have told me it's a grey area, so its possible they're malignant or will be some day, as much as I understand it. They're going to do more investigations and tests to see if it's spread anywhere else. and possibly to determine what stage it is if relevant. but I was told that it's a bit of a grey area, as they might or might not be malignant. still, if its closer to the benign side, I'm a bit hoeful.
I'm 25. My mom died 2 months ago to the day today, with her diagnosis being exactly one month before she died, so I'm pretty spooked. (Liver cancer in her case, or cholangiocarcinoma.) She was only 53...
it's a bit scary. maybe my prognosis is good. maybe it isn't. who knows. till will tell.
