Hi I am about to start my road of discovery and recovery from Endometrial Cancer ( confirmed just yesterday ) and I go for my first CT scan this evening at 6pm I know it will be a long and worrying time but I am quite a strong and positive thinking person though the news was a shock, as i believe i am at stage 3 already so now waiting to find out 'just how bad it is' from the CT scan results. I expect to be in surgery within the next couple of weeks..... ...It helps me to talk about things so expect I will be here with updates of my progress on a regular basis if this is ok for me to do.........thanks to everyone involved in the community for making this possible. J
Hi Janet,
I was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer, in March 2020. It came as a shock to me too, I was convinced I only had fibroids. My course of action was a hysterectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but your treatment may well be different.
My advise, (and I do appreciate this is hard and easier said than done) is to take each day as it comes and just deal with what needs to be dealt with that day. It really helps to try and focus your mind like this as, if you are an overthinker like me, you can work yourself up with some serious anxiety by thinking about the "What if" scenario.
Take care of yourself
Abi
Thankyou Abi good advice, well received . I have been told already i am having full Hysterectomy.., taking everything ( ovaries the lot) but we have not discussed aftercare yet, as you say 1 day at a time, i will know soon enough.
Take care and thanks again for reply. J
