It's natural to be worried when you don't know what will be happening at an appointment but you've come to the right place to share experiences.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the very friendly breast cancer group. This isn't because I think you have cancer but because it'll give you the chance to talk to others who have been where you are now.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

I am 42yrs old and in April I found a lump and like you went to the GP. They referred me to the hospital. The staff were lovely and I had a mamogram, then an ultrasound and I had biopsies taken. I was
also worried but I think it is important to get things checked and get answers. Hope the appointment goes OK. I didn't take anyone with me but if you can get someone to go with you. There can be some waiting around. X
