Hi Guys I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer at the end of March and underwent my first lumpectomy and sentinel node removal mid April.I then needed a 2nd op to remove a bit more tissue which I had on 26th May.Everything is good apart from an inverted nipple.I rang my breast nurse and all she said is keep an eye on it and we will look at it in clinic in 2 weeks. As I suffer anxiety this is not what I wanted to hear but I can’t keep ringing them as I feel I am a nuisance.I know inverted nipple is a sign of breast cancer and I also know I’ve had mine removed and it’s more than likely trauma(if they were that worried surely they would want to see me before 2 weeks). How do I tell my head this?Is there anyone who’s been in the same position or is in the same position?I would love to hear someone else’s story.

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community but sorry that you had to find us and especially sorry to hear about your BC diagnosis.

A cancer diagnosis can be challenging in so many ways but you will find talking with others who are walking the same type of cancer treatment journey will help you navigate this difficult time so can I recommend you join our supportive Breast cancer group as this will be a good place to connect with patients going through the same type of cancer treatments.

To join a group just click on the link above then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens.

You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘New Thread’ or hit the box with the X on the top right (phones), you could just copy and paste the text from this your first post. You can also join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.

It’s always good to talk so do call the Macmillan Support Services on 0808 808 00 00 - most services are open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week Clicking here to see what is available. This service can give lots of cancer information, support, financial guidance or just a listening ear.

To find information covering diagnosis, treatments and pages covering most types of cancers can be found on our Online Information and Support Section
