Hi there, so I’ve joined the community to find out other people’s experience with BCC surgery. My husband has had an excision and skin graft on his forehead but they have concluded that he has to have the surgery again as the carcinoma has gone deeper than skin depth. They propose to do the surgery again with wider margins. Has anyone else experienced this, and more specifically have they had MMS instead of the usual excision. We are in the North Devon area and don’t even know if this is an option here, or is it worth going private? Thank you to anyone who reads and answers. X

The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join us over in the skin cancer group where you'll find plenty of people who have had BCCs removed by a simple excision or by Mohs' surgery.

It would be great if you could pop something about your husband's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'.
