Hi everyone, last Monday I had a colonoscopy and was told they found a tumour. Yesterday it was officially confirmed after my biopsy and ct scan and mri. I am 40 years old, Married 5 years and we have been trying for a baby through IVF for most of that time. I was about to try again in a months time. Now this. It’s stage 3 and they say it’s treatment with 5 weeks of chemoradiation and then operation where I’ll most likely have a stoma. Have to get my head adjusted to that! My mam died of bowel cancer 6 months ago. She was diagnosed 4 years ago to the day. She was treatable for much of that until she wasn’t. She was 71 when she died. I’m scared that this journey will go the same for me. They have asked if I want to delay treatment by a month in order to do an egg retrieval that I could possibly use for surrogacy but I’m too scared to wait even a month. My tumour is 2.5cm and is showing possible regional lymph nodes but they can’t say for certain just yet. It’s an adenoca tumour with moderate differentiation. Scared and anxious and sad so would love to hear from the community about their experiences.I also have loads of questions around diet - I’ve heard high protein low carb is the best way forward?
