Hello everyone. My husband was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of March. He was told it could either be testicular cancer that has spread to his tummy or some type of blood cancer. He has a large mass at wrapped around two arteries at the back of his tummy and several lumps in his balls. He had a biopsy in April which was not able to be used so has another booked for June. He is sick all the time, and in pain. Just so gutted to see him like this. Don’t know where to begin. Feel a bit in limbo constantly waiting for news…. Until we know which type he has and how to proceed we feel like we are in a hamster wheel
Hi and warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community but sorry that you had to find us and especially sorry to hear about your husbands ongoing diagnosis.
Cancer investigations in the family can be challenging in so many ways especially when it takes so long and yes it’s like being in a hamster wheel, but eventually the wheel will stop and progress will be made.
There is a rather big difference between a solid tumour cancer like testicular and a blood cancer so it is very important that care is taken to get a clear diagnosis. I was in fact diagnosed way back in 1999 with a rare type of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (blood cancer) that was very treatable but not curable but it took rather a longer time to find the exact diagnosis.
