Hi,
I am new to this forum and have just been diagnosed with bowel cancer 4 weeks ago. After having a second MRI - this time on liver, I have been told it has not spread to liver, thankfully. My colorectal nurse has informed me that I will receive an appointment shortly (7-10 days) with oncology consultant to discuss neoadjuvant treatment - chemo prior to removal of cancer in colon.
I would welcome some advice from the MacMillan community who are or were on the same path.
I am 57 years old, worried and apprehensive of what is going to happen - but that is probably the same for all of you.
Look forward hearing from you
Hi Loreley and welcome to the Macmillan Online Community but sorry that you had to find us and especially sorry to hear about your Bowel Cancer diagnosis.
A cancer diagnosis can be challenging in so many ways but indeed talking with others who are walking the same type of cancer journey can help you navigate this difficult time.
The Community is organised into support groups so can I recommend you join our supportive Bowel (colon and rectum) cancer group, this will be a good place to connect with patients and families navigating the same type of cancer journey.
To join a group just click on the link above then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens.
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘New Thread’ or hit the box with the X on the top right (phones), you could just copy and paste the text from this your first post. You can also join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.
