After having a fall on the 19th February and breaking my femur,  operation to have rods and plates inserted, random tests and xrays showed something on my right lung, after every scan going and biopsy’s (bronchoscopy and mediastinoscopy) I was diagnosed with NSCLC. On the 27th April I had my operation to remove 1/4 of my lung with 2 tumours, I have been home from hospital now a week and few days all has been well and I feel great but past few days have suffered realy badly with nerve pain and numbness, does anyone know how long this lasts or anyone on the forum suffered from it, my nurse is comming out to see me tomorrow, but thought I would ask on here if anyone has any advice  thankyou

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

It sounds like you've been through the wars a bit these last couple of months and I'm sorry to read that you're currently suffering with bad pain and numbness.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the lung cancer group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
