Hi
im just sitting watching a film ‘Miss you already’ and it’s about ‘cancer’.
it’s making me think. My mum passed recently from pancreatic cancer and her mother had bowel cancer so is there any test I can do to make sure I’m healthy? I have a young daughter and I don’t want her to be alone ever.
My mum made 12 months between diagnosis and passing and I keep waiting for a huge fall out of emotion but my coping mechanism is to keep going. 100% no moping policy here and I can hear my mum saying that it’s girl get up and get on with it.
I just want to make sure I am doing everything I can to make sure I’m here as long as I can be, so is there a test or a blood count check or anything I can do to make that happen?
Hi and warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community and so sorry to hear about the lose of your mum.
Cancer in the family does makes us all think and yes it’s good to ensure we do what we can to ensure we are living a healthy lifestyle and using all the medical tests available.
I have a blood cancer so a different area of cancer, no family history and sometimes very difficult to identify early.
