  • Been experiencing a drop in blood pressure, I’ve stopped taking my blood pressure tablets until I can get a gp appointment, they’re few and far between!

im only on fragmin, which is leaving a very large cluster of lumps, red and bruised and warm to touch so I am wondering if this drug affects blood pressure? The reading are increasing slowly and I’m now on a systolic of 115 so better than the 104 that I previously had

  • Hi . You've posted back in the "New to Community" forum. I'm thinking perhaps you meant to Ask a nurse about your blood pressure. The only thing is you may need to wait a day or two for a reply. You could contact your CNS they should be able to help and explain if the Fragmin would affect blood pressure. I'm not medically trained but unsure if it's wise to stop taking your tablets.

In my experience it seems whilst you're still under the care of the hospital, GP's tend to back off and let them answer any post-op treatment queries.

I think also if you explain to your GP's surgery that you're injecting with Fragmin following surgery they should "bump up" your request for an appointment to more urgent.

    Hope that helps a bit.

    All the best, Bxx

    Hi thanks for the reply

I did explain to the receptionist about fragmin injections but didn’t really get any help

hopefully McMillan nurse will get back to me soon, there wasn’t an alternative that I could see other than to stop tablets that would lower blood pressure even more so it’s a just wait for help now Pray tone1 when you say CNS do you mean McMillan nurse? I don’t have any other nurse?

  • Weird the way some GP surgeries jump through hoops to help, others totally unhelpful.

Yes, some hospitals assign you a Clinician Nurse Specialist, others a Macmillan Nurse. Same thing.

Hope you get a reply soon. B x
