Hi, I’m Lisa and after being hospitalised with Covid last October i’ve been through a series of tests and scans to try and identify the course of my symptoms.  I just assumed I had long covid.  Last week my results were finally diagnostic. I feel a bit lost right now BUT I’m very positive about my future but still a tad scared of what may lie ahead.

Is there anyone out there who can share some tips on how to manage the pre-treatment wait and beyond.  Thanks in advance, LL

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that you've had to deal with covid and now you've been diagnosed with hairy cell leukaemia (HCL).

As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the CLL,SLL and HCL group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.

Thank you so much. I’ve had a quick look using the link. Unfortunately there isn’t really any current activity for HCL, I guess this is because it’s not so common.  I’m just so keen to speak with someone going through the HCL journey.  There is a guy from my actual home town but I’m not sure when he was last active on the group.  I’ve reached out to him so fingers crossed I’ll hear back.

    Thanks again, Lisa

  • Lots of people 'lurk', for want of a better word, in groups without actually posting until someone else with the same condition as them posts. So you never know, there could be others with HCL who just haven't posted yet and if you post it'll encourage them Slight smile
