Hello all.
So this year has been a truly shitty one so far.
January saw a diagnosis of esophagus cancer for my mum in law.
February it was secondary cancer in lymph nodes for my brother.
Nothing could be done for my mum in law as it had spread to liver, spine and leg bones. We lost her 9 weeks after initial diagnosis.
My brother has had surgery to remove 3 tumors from neck but can't find source cancer. He has to receive radiotherapy and they will target throat too incase it was there and reduced the chances of it coming back. There is a 20% chance this will result in him losing the ability to swallow and require tube feeding for the rest of his life.
His landlord has given notice that him and his wife need to move out as flat to be renovated. This has stressed him out so much that my sis in law called earlier to say he's refusing to eat or take medication. They live over 200 miles away so I can't just pop round and try and talk to him. He said he wants to be dead and of not for his life insurance would throw himself under a bus. I've asked her to call NHS 111 if he continues like this. He was shouting while I was on the phone trying to talk him into taking meds.
What else can I do?
My heart is breaking.

Could I suggests that tomorrow you call the Macmillan Support Services as they provided lots of information, support, financial guidance or just a listening ear.
