My husband has stage 4 prostate cancer with mets in lymph nodes and liver. Had good response to chemo last year. Since September he has had increasing problems with pain in left leg. Treated for gout, told could be nerve damage from chemo, etc. Finally following scans he’s been told he has 3 tumours! One under knee, one in ankle and one in heel. Certainly explains the pain! Having radiotherapy next week to try to address pain. Very debilitating- poor mobility due to pain. Managed with morphine. On crutches around house. Bed now downstairs. Needs a wheelchair if we leave home. We just are stunned how quickly a cancer diagnosis completely changes your life. We are now getting amazing practical support from palliative care team. Just wondered how other people are coping with the emotional upheaval while supporting their loved ones through these challenging times.
