Hi, I'm hoping for some advice.
My sister is in a really bad way at the moment and isn't drinking anymore.
Has anybody got any advice, are home drips for dehydration available. We've exhausted everything so far from using straws and even spoons and syringes to get water in but she won't open her mouth and struggles to swallow now.
Any ideas would be greatly received.
Hi and welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read that your sister is in a really bad way and I can see that you've also posted in ask a nurse. If you haven't seen the reply yet clicking here will take you straight there. They have recommended that "you call the 111 service to have her reviewed".
As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the supporting someone with incurable cancer which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
