Hello I am known as Popppa dom

After years of pain and sickness and pleading my case,I was referred for a gall bladder scan ,this was January 2020.i had previously had one of these scans in 2016 which confirmed 2 gall stones,I continued in pain until the scan in 2020 when the result were released it showed a mass on my pancreas, I had endoscopy and blood tests  that confirmed  the mass, type and size.i was told quit bluntly, you have cancer not gall bladder problems, I had a very rare neuroendocrine tumour ,they are rare and slow growing compared to other types .

At this time lock down was just becoming reality,my husband due to retire our plans after 41 years married were shattered,no nice week away coach trips to meet up with friends . What was happening , my husband Gordon was heart broken , would my treatment go ahead, everything was held up or canceled. Then I got the good news of what type of tumor it was and that being 76 now I probably live with it and pass away from natural causes.Hallelujah i got the oncology phone call to commence somatuline injections ,one every 28 days,.i was surprised to find out that my tumor  was visible in 2016 but went unnoticed this saddened and annoyed me as I knew somthing was very wrong and repeatedly complained to my doctor. But what is done is done I prayed for more time, strength to cope with the treatment and results on my last scan in January 2021it  had shrunk 50% ,I'm coping with the injections and being the best I can be ,all my prayers answered i thank God for each new day ,For the Doctors ,nurses all NHS.Macmillan

  • Hi

I can see that you've previously posted in the pancreatic cancer group and wondered if this is where you meant to post this. You can click on the link I've created to take you directly there where you could copy and paste this post into a new post there to save you typing it out again.

However, I noticed in this post that you mentioned you had a neuroendocrine tumour and wondered if you knew there was a group specifically for those types of cancer. If you think it might be a more appropriate group for you clicking on the link will take you there where you can join and post in the same way as you did when you joined the pancreatic cancer group.
