I was told December that I had Cancer so I knew what was coming, I received the full consultation, late January. I have incurable advanced prostate and bone Matas Cancer, I was started on hormone tablets in December, long lasting injection in January, more tablets, in march, and radiotherapy to start in April. Really bad start to the year.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community although I'm very sorry that you've had to find us.

Receiving a cancer diagnosis is an extremely stressful time but I'm glad that you've felt able to reach out to this community. I can see that you've already joined the living with incurable cancer group where I'm sure you'll get plenty of support from the other members of the group.

As you've found, the online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend a couple more that you might benefit from joining. They are the prostate cancer and secondary bone cancer groups where you can ask questions and share experiences around treatment.

To join either or both of these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
