I have recently been diagnosed with oesopageal cancer with secondary liver cancer. Due to the secondary cancer I cannot have surgery so will start chemo (HCX) on 22nd March. It would be useful to hear from people in the same boat, their experiences, results etc. I can see there is a group for each but where should I start? Could you point me in the right direction please? Many thanks.

A cancer diagnosis brings many questions, much confusion and lots of stress but indeed, talking with others who are walking the same type of journey will help you navigate this challenging time.
Yes the Community is organised into dedicated support groups. I would join both groups as this will spread your options of supportive as folks will move across the groups depending on treatment and experiences.

To join a group just click on the link above then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens.
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘New Thread’ or hit the box with the X on the top right (phones), you could just copy and paste the text from this your first post. You can also join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.
It’s always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support, financial guidance or just a listening ear.
