Hello , and welcome to the online community, I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis but glad to see you’ve made contact with a fellow throat cancer patient already. You might also like to click on the link below to take you to the head and neck cancer group which will be able to help you with their experience of how they are coping.

I must admit I came to this site back in 2015 to find others who had my type of cancer it gives some reassurance finding people who have been through a diagnosis and can understand the range of emotions we go through. Mine is a different type of cancer but  and many others in the group will be there to give you some support. As you’ve mentioned anger you might find the link below of help as well.

  • Good evening Polominto73, please do not panic, just the sound of the word cancer makes us think of bad things. This sort of cancer can be treated by surgery with radiotherapy and chemotherapy or a combination of them all with very good success rates. Of course, it depends on what area of the throat and neck it is. I have had 3 cancers all to do with head and neck with radio and chemotherapy, thanks to the skill and dedication of my consultant i made a recovery and have been cancer-free since 2010 after my third operation. Once you see your ENT consultant he/she will tell you what they intend to do to get rid of the tumour so please re-post in the Head and Neck group and there will be a few of us who im sure will help you get through this, I can assure you it's not all doom and gloom so please do not give up hope. Looking forward to hearing from you soon, take care, stay strong.
