My husband has bowel and liver cancer and there’s nothing that can be done, I’m scared frightened and just can’t think straight, we have only known for 5 weeks
Hi and a warm welcome to the community, although I'm sorry to hear about your husband. You might like to post in Carers Only where there are lots of spouses going through similar struggles and there'll be plenty of support for you.And Supporting someone with incurable cancer is a very friendly group too. It's easy to understand your fear, it's hard enough to hear 'incurable'; I can only imagine how it must be to know it's terminal and my heart goes out to you. I had to write things down to get my head round it and, at times, the advice to 'just name things', standing there and literally saying, blue lamp, glass table etc as you look at them helped to ground and settle my thoughts. It's a tough marathon you're on and you'll need a lot of support on the way. You might like to see if there's a Maggie's Centre nearby; they run courses for carers to help cope with the stress and are spoken of very highly. Pop your post code in here to see what support groups are in your area; face-to-face support is so valuable.
Love and hugs,
LoobyLou
If you find dust in my house, write your name in it. When the signatures overlap I'll get the polish.
