Attended my first consultant meeting yesterday with my Macmillan nurse, I did not expect all good news but I did expect some hope after only 3 weeks of the oesophagus cancer being found, I was told large lymph nodes surrounded by large tumour with spread to the liver, I was told it can not be operated on !! I can have a stent put in when the time is right for me but that appears to be it, so what now ? The hardest bit for me is facing this alone with no family or friends to give much needed support, mentally I am worn out confused, I can not fight this cancer if it is not operable,
All I can do it seems is get my affairs in order and say goodbye, sorry I was not able to give this sick evil oesophagus cancer afight, no options after after only 3 weeks of knowing.
I feel anger towards my GP who just kept giving me ranitadine and inhalers saying it was COPD despite blood test saying there was a problem for over twelve months.
Alan ( chuddy )
Hi Alan,
I am so relieved you are ending your day in a better place, i haven’t replied to anything until I read yours this morning, but I have read so many over the last few months & it has really helped me. Take care mate. Stu.
I am sat in the mobile pet-ct scanner waiting to be called for my radioactive injection, I have never drank so much water in my life, I have just checked my dogs on the in home camera - they are fast asleep so they are happy.
Be glad when I am on my way home.
Alan
Had my injection, now sat relaxing ? on a bony old chair that has certainly seen the best of it's years and looking like it's ready for the dump, bit bored and my backside as now gone numb, I am only telling this so if you have to have a pet-ct scan you can fetch a cushion and maybe a book, they have given me more water ! More water enough is enough.
Best say bye for now, hope I am not doing wrong posting at this time, just bored with a dead bum.
Alan
Dear I’ve sat in many an uncomfortable nhs chair in my time,I’m glad the scan went ok and all is well with the doggies, have a relaxing evening to recover and pass all that water
Thanks, soon be home now another 25 to 30 miles, all goes well I have got some feeling to the rear back.
Looking forward to seeing my dogs who are still sleeping
Now back home from my pet - CT scan, I wish all my appointments to be as easy as this was, I got a nice hug from the nurse on leaving wishing me a very merry Christmas, there really is some good people.
Dogs are fed and so am I, taking the dogs out for a walk, they was left for 5 hours for the first time and they slept all day, mind you we was over the fields at 06 am with their collar lights on so I could see them.
That's me for tonight, bye
Alan
