Hi all,
I am waiting for my GP to clarify that I can be referred to Lymphoedema Clinic as I'm on active treatment for a blood clot.
Can I ask if any of you have pelvic and/or groin lymphoedema that is painful and how extreme your swelling is? My groin is very swollen but my leg is something else - literally double the size of my left leg. The Anticoagulation Clinic did say having the clot and lymphoedema would be painful. Just looking for advice on pain relief really. Thanks.
Hi Summer25 welcome to the forum . So you are waiting for the GP to clarify if you are able to go to the Lymphoedema clinic. I suspect that whilst you are on active treatment for a blood clot that a lymphoedema specialist would be reluctant to get involved until the blood clot is resolved fully. I'm thinking possibly the best thing to do is to speak to your GP and keep in touch with them to see what has been said..have they suggested anything to you for pain ? Xx
Hi Granny59,
Thanks for your reply. GP called this morning to say the clinic will call me and can offer compression garments but you are right in no massage etc until clot fully dealt with. I'm coming round to the fact of having to put up with it, just want to know if what I'm experiencing is normal from a fellow sufferer. My leg is so heavy and exhausts me walking with it. It's more than double size of other and painful but worst pain is right at spot in groin where clot is and just above there. Is this all to be expected? X
