Hi, have had lymphodema below my knees for 15+years.
I have an ordinary wooden frame bed that I simply put blocks under the 2 legs at the foot, which raises my feet by about 12". Mattress and frame both need replacing.
I was looking at some electric (non-medical) beds but they only raise my legs by about 10", and as I sleep on my side mt body would be slightly twisted, which I don't reckon would be good.
I am inclined (Ha!) to just buy another ordinary bed and do the same again, but I wondered if anyone has come across any frames where the end can be raised by 12" or more? I don't need electric.
Hi TPWombat welcome to the forum. I take it you see someone for your Lymphodema and im wondering if them.or your GP could have you assessed for a hospital type bed that can lift and lower at the head and foot and some times the knees as well? The other person that could assist maybe is the Occupatipbal Therapy department but they would likely need a referral. . Hope you manage to get something sorted out for you that helps. Best wishes Gail
