is there anyone who has or had this problem? I’m 9months post op and it’s really getting me down , thank you xx
Thank you, plus, congratulations on 11years!!!
its my breast and can get very painful. I spoke to one of the nurses on the free phone this afternoon and she has suggested that I go and see my gp and then get in touch with my Breast care nurses.
i hope you are well and not had any problems? Xx
The nurse is right. Speak to your GP. Have you posted on the breast cancer site you may also get extra advice. I had ovarian cancer and was directed by my doctor to a lymph nurse and was all so given tips of this site how to cope. Its very rare now that I have it. Learn all you can and understand why it occurs and what to do. It can be kept under control. Its very rare it affects me now. Anyway all the best for the future. Remember positive mental attitude is the best way forward don't let cancer win. Take care
Hi Ciara
Yes I have been diagnosed last week by consultant with lymphedema in breast. I am 4 months post op 5 nearly 6 weeks post rads. He said radiotherapy induced. I have severe pain down nipple into breast and swelling and pain to walk also orange skin effect on breast. I dont even have an appointmment yet to see a therapist. Have you seen a lymphedema specialist? do you get pain stabbling down the nipple? Its horrid isnt it. Sorry you are also suffering.
Hope you will be feeling better soon.

Yes I have seen the lymph nurse. It was going to a six week course by Macmillan that it was confirmed that lymph was the problem in my legs. Gp was useless. Anyway changed GP and he made an appointment for me to see a lymph nurse. She was excellent and showed me what to do for myself. Have you posted on the breast cancer forum. Don't suffer in silence. Macmillan have a nurse you can talk to over the phone. She may be able to help and give you advice. They were excellent when I needed them. Also they have a page which tells you information as to what groups are in your area. Its good to talk with others who like you have breast cancer. Hope you find answers. Take care and don't suffer in silence.... Pat
Glad to hear that you managed to see a lymph nurse. Good idea to talk to someone on the phone. I never thought about groups in my area will look into that.
Thankyu so much for your kind replyand advise I reallyappreciate it.
