I asked my oncologist on Wednesday about this, not down to her, the GP does it.
Just phoned GP, they do not do it, down to the district nurses, or the Hospice staff. i do not have either, thank goodness..
Wish i had never asked, Thats my rant,
I was asked about whether, or not, I wanted a DNR about an hour before my last surgery. I’d just turned 60, and was told that medically, I was very fit, young, and low risk! I was very vocal about my choice. Luckily the person asking me was part of my surgical team, and was very supportive. I have had a discussion with my oncology doctor about this, and have been reassured that if it’s not in my best interests they would not resuscitate me.
Hi Jools, I have had 4 minor heart Ops lately, keyhole surgery with nerve blocks, so tiny amounts of anaesthetic, but as i have a bad heart there was a small chance of complications so was asked every time about DNR. They were very nice about it and i never concerned.
