Well dont know what to say, 64yr old lady

Started bleeding in Dec, hystersopy removal of a fibriod, polyp and biopsy, diagnosed with endometrial cancer aggressive type, hysterectomy 9 weeks ago, then got nercrosis of the abdominal wall in hospital 17 nights, then told I had carcinosarcoma stage 3, very rare and aggressive, waiting for the chemo to start when the nercrosis healed, had a scan on the 10th April, because I was having a vaginal bleed, 2nd scan a week ago, then to be told I have a mass in my virgina the only thing left after the hysterectomy and nodules in my lung

So in 8 weeks its gone from stage 3 to stage 4 in 8 weeks treatable not curable, I start chemo tommrow 2 chemos for 6 weeks then immutherpy, totally in shock and dont know what my quilty my life will be and for how long

Ive told my hubby will take each day as it comes and stay positive, I'm in control hopefully of this cancer and I will fight all the way, its fear of the unknown that bothers me

  • Hi Mogsmum, I am pretty new here myself and all I can say is that the people in this forum are lovely and very supportive. I am sorry that we all find ourselves in this position but it does make you feel less alone interacting with others in the same boat. I'm still in the waves of non stop crying to I'm gonna fight it. X

  • Ahhh bless you, I never thought in a million years I would be here today, but we never know what path life throws at us, I've just pulled my big girl pants up and think at least ive been on this planet for 64 yrs and had a lovely life, but that doesn't mean I will stop fighting for a few more years yet if its only to enjoy life with my lovely hubby

I wish you well on your journey

  • Hi

I am sorry you find yourself here. Everyone on this forum has experienced the horror of discovering they have incurable cancer and had to stare into the unknown. So welcome, and hopefully you can lean into some of our experiences. Do you know which chemo and immunotherapy drugs you will be having? Whilst there are people on here with many different types of cancer, there are many treatment overlaps. My chemo / immunotherapy combo when I became metastatic was NAB-Paclitaxel and Pembrolizumab. Treatment certainly game me some challenges, but I achieved a remission which has held so far and have reasonable quality of life. Wishing you all the best.

  • Hi

welcome to the group, but I am sorry you have had to join us here. I too have an endometrial cancer, mine is a sarcoma called endometrial stromal sarcoma. I was first diagnosed in 2009, then it decided to take up home in my lungs in 2014 which was when I got the incurable but treatable diagnosis.
Living with cancer is an adjustment, physically and mentally. My mobility is effected, not by the cancer, but by my treatment, you can read my story by clicking on my profile name, that will take you to my profile page.
Mentally I have what I call mental blips, very low days where I tend to shut down. I’m going through a bit of a blip at the moment, and it’s a struggle. You are right, just take each day one day at a time. No 2 days are ever the same in cancer care, so tomorrow can always be better.

Wishing you all the best either way your chemo. Keep posting here, it helps to share with people that know what you are going through. X
