Hello all. I was first diagnosed in April of 2019 with stage 3c primary peritoneal cancer. It returned in August 2025. They kindly let me know that they can't cure me. But they can help keep me here longer. For now, I'm doing targeted therapy a trial called the Paola 1 trial. It's Avastin and Lynparza I'll be on that for 2 years. And go from there.

  • Hi

Whilst I am sure you don’t want to be here, welcome to this community. It’s a friendly bunch with a variety of primary cancers and locations of spread. Many of us continue to live well, and I hope you do soon.  I am sure others will be along to welcome you shortly.

  • Hello and welcome.

I was on a trial (Modi-Fy) for a couple of years.  My approach is "tomorrows' treatment, today".    I hope it's going well for you.   My trial day unit was like "royalty" compared to the busy "standard" day unit.  I hope it's not too far to travel.

  • Hello Mmum. What medication does that trial consist of? And I like your approach. I'll start my targeted therapy on the 29th. The hospital I'm at is also amazing. They saved my sister's life as well helping me stay a little longer. It's not bad-looking either. It's about a 25-minute drive without traffic and an hour and a half with traffic on a good day. However, I'll go and do what it takes to survive. Have a good day

  • It was a new vaccine alongside nivolumab or other checkpoint inhibitor treatment).  The vaccine drug was modi-1, the manufacturer is Scancell.   It uses a similar approach to the covid vaccine, I believe.

It stimulates the immune system to create T cells that attack the cancer.  Microbiology is not my strong point. . . . . . .
