Coping with the 'cocktail' of pain relief and steroids and chemo causing sleeplessness. Desperately want my hand to be restored to play my guitar and piano as the cancer in the spine is causing pressure that has limited the use of my fingers. Looking for online mindfulness and ideas of looking my best despite potential hair loss (again) and being so tired. How can I still be a cool nanny who laughs, plays and has fun?
Hi Swan,
Sorry you feel that way. I have 2 grandchildren aged 1½ and 6, girl and boy. 4 months after my cancer diagnosis I started to get pain in my left leg and within 6 months I was wheelchair bound, absolutely nothing to do with the cancer. I don't need the chair indoors. My grandson dotes on me and still asks me to play football with him in the garden which I try and he laughs and laughs. I'm still a cool granddad even if I can't play in the garden. From he was crawling I have him sitting on my knee when out at the shops or wherever, he loves it. Now he's just getting too heavy because the chair only takes a certain weight so I can play with him building lego. Now his sister has taken his place on my knee and he doesn't mind. Still a cool granddad.

That is so lovely. Thank you for the encouragement
Hello Swan, A belated welcome from me. What about letting your musicality come out by singing? It's just another instrument after all and it's built-in. There are now also computer programmes that let you make music by using a keyboard. Maybe something to explore? Wishing you all the very best. Hugs from Rainie x
hello Rainieday. Thanks for your ideas. Starting to get my head around it all thanks to the lovely comments & encouragement I've had. determined to turn my limitations into new possibilities. Have bought a kalimba thumb piano to try but I love singing too.
Morning Swan, Ellie's a bit of a singer, you should both get together, maybe a bit of busking! Rainieday will then capture you on canvas, fame beckons!
