Hi everyone!

Newbie here, I found the courage and acceptance to join this group after getting confirmation that my pancreatic (and now in other places) cancer is non-curable.

I haven't asked for a prognosis, might do that when I'm feeling braver later on, but I aim to see my 50th birthday in June 2024. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Please say hello! I'm a little shy when I comes to posting but hope to join in, in a safe space.

Cheers

Christine

    Hi Pet

    That's very encouraging to read!!

As you say, I'd rather not be here but I am. And I've found it really friendly so far, thanks to everyone who has replied or posted elsewhere.

    Hi Rainie, thank you! x

  • Hi Christine

Welcome to the group. As someone relatively new to the group myself, I have found everyone very supportive and it’s really helpful that everyone knows how you feel.

Hi, just thought I’d say hello too. I had my devastating news just before my 50th last September.

There are lots on here, stable and past their ‘sell by date’, which is reassuring.
Always someone on  here to chat to. I hope it helps you.

  • Hi Christine. Sorry I am late in welcoming you to the group, but looks like you have had a very warm welcome already.

The prognosis question is a very personal one. Not everyone wants to know, and the thing to remember is once you know, you can never give that information back.

    Hi Chelle

Yes! That is so true. And right now, I don't want to know.

  • Hi Christine, Glad to see you've decided to join us but sorry to read your story. I've not been here too long but find the support and much needed humour here second to none. It's a safe place to talk and discuss whatever's bothering you and you'll always get a lovely reply.

    Sending welcoming hugs, Barb xx
