Hi everyone!

Newbie here, I found the courage and acceptance to join this group after getting confirmation that my pancreatic (and now in other places) cancer is non-curable.

I haven't asked for a prognosis, might do that when I'm feeling braver later on, but I aim to see my 50th birthday in June 2024. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Please say hello! I'm a little shy when I comes to posting but hope to join in, in a safe space.

Cheers

Christine

  • Hi Christine welcome to the group, you'll find all of us on here no how you feel. You'll get plenty of support, understanding and humour. As a prognosis, it's an estimate, some of us  are living lonHearter. I've gone 1year over my sell by date. I've been stable for the best part of 2 years. Don't us Google, alot of info is out of date. There are so many new treatment about. Keep posting. Heart

  • Welcome to our gang of great people who will be here for you whenever you need us huge hugs xxx

  • Hi Christine,

Welcome to our select group, lurking is no problem, but you don't need to be shy, it is safe and welcoming here.

Best wishes on reaching 50 and carrying on xxx

  • Hi Christine and delighted to meet you!
Good to have a target.  I've got two!  The first is to make my daughter's graduation in 2027, and then to 60 in 2029.  Haven't thought beyond that.
I was on here a while in the kidney cancer group before I decided to join this group too.  The people on here are great.

    Hi Moi2

Thank you!! It certainly looks like a friendly bunch Smiley

I've tried to avoid Google as much as possible, instead I check here or Pancreatic Cancer UK.

I'm scared to ask about a prognosis to be honest. I may pluck up the courage to ask at a later date but for now, while I'm still off work, I plan to enjoy my time. And although it sounds cheesy, create special memories with my family.
