Hi EVERYONE, Well, we had to get an earlier flight home because I was feeling terrible about theSaturday night of our second week! I stayed in bed Sunday but bey Monday, I just wanted to go home! We tried to get a flight for the Monday but the first direct flight from Alicante to Glasgow was Thursday!
We got home about 7ish from the airport and at 8pm, I was on phone to NHS24. After holding on for 50 mins I got through to a person enjoying asked loads of questions. After about an hour or more, they said someone from Out of Hours Service would call. Another hour went by, OOH phoned back saying to go to A&E. I felt as if I had just wasted two and a half hours.
Our son took me and when we walked in, it looked like someone had advertised they were giving away £50 notes! Busy or what!
Got there just before 11pm, finally saw doctor at ;07.30. The triage nurse got files mixed up seemingly! Got to ward 20.15. Had supper in hospital
Friday, Saturday Sunday they were trying to get pain under control. My left leg was so swollen I couldn't get anything to put on my feet, they were so swollen. From my hip to my toes were swollen, red, burning, extremely paianful. There were 4 in the ward The patients and staff were terrific!
Sunday night transferred to different ward!, in the older part of the hospital, it is a madhouse!! Very noisy ward, phones constantly ringing buzzers constantly buzzing at night people shouting, nurses shouting down the length of the ward which is very large but separated into smaller groups but the centre goes from one end to other! I have to get an ultrasound (I hope today) looking for DVT. If that show's nothing they will do a full body scan, either MRI or PET scan of whole body to check for cancer! I don't know when that will be though. Just have to wait and see. No point in worrying! I don't do what ifs!! Will keep in touch! Love to all!
Well i reckon you are on strong medication, you know me Annette, been friends for 7 years now, and you are trying to have the story of the year, well lady, stories have pages, you have turned enough, and hopefully we are getting to the last page, and everything will work out good
Love Ellie xx,
Thanks everyone once again! I'm so sorry to steal your thunder Ellie but this is truly unbelievable. This is a rollercoaster I really want to get off! The quicker the better! If this was a book I was reading, I'd say it was too far fetched!
Tvman, the kids and I have spoken over Face Time and they were all excited! It does sound like the people in Ward 17 should shout at one another instead of the staff!
It turns out the girl in the opposite bed has Covid. The consultant told me today that the fact the ward is closed will make no difference to when I get the heart Trace or the Scan, but couldn't tell me when it would be.
Vince came up to the hospital Friday,Saturday and Sunday when I was in the new building and was meant to visit Sunday night to my new ward. He said he didn't feel well and was really tired, so I told him to stay in bed instead of coming up to see me!
Every night Paul has been getting something for Vince's dinner, texting he's on the way and leaving the bag on the front porch, so he's been well taken care of! I also speak to him every night before bed..
Please don't worry, as I'm not. As I keep saying what will be will be and Carpe Diem! I take it a day at a time and there's no point in worrying about things that you have no control over, like this!
I have some beautiful pictures around me bed from our grandchildren and they make me smile every day! The simple things in life! The boiler is sorted because we've to have snow tonight.
Next Update will be when I hear when my scans are. Everyone take care and thank you so much every single one of you who have contributed to this thread in support!!
Love Annette x
LOL Your not stealing my thunder lol, takes me a while to read a book, the pages keep turning, and everything will come into place,it is a guessing game at moment, and trying to work things out, Best attitude Annette that is the way i think, cannot change anything, we go along, because we have to.
Love Ellie xx
.
I can't believe how long it took for you to see a doctor! That's a horrendously long time to wait ty I'll 9 see a doctor and it wasn't even a weekend! Hope you were in a bed so you could at least try to sleep and not sitting on a chair in a&e. Was some member of your family with you the whole time? When that happens to me I feel guilty for being ill and yet on the other hand it's good to have company to talk to.
Maybe you'll get your scans today and you'll soon be coming to a halt in that rollercoaster so you can get off. You'll soon see Vince and the rest of the family Annette.
Tvman xx
I wish i could send you our weather for a while...29 degrees here...could do with a few colder days. Well, Annette what's next??? Some other bacteria...omg what a time you got there. And can they do the scans anyway?? Cuz you bring the bacteria with you?? Just bad timing...next time plan your sick days better..lol. Hope you out there soon.
Another day in hospital Annette but you are sounding positive. What lovely grandchildren to send you pictures, I bet they are missing you. Hope you get your scan ASAP, sounds like the doctor is finally getting the ball rolling at least. I know I don’t know you but I am sending love and hugs anyway as we all need as much as we can.

Hi Tvman, yes it was a long time but after the initial wait and after I saw the Triage nurse, they actually got me down a hospital bed from one of the wards, rather than lie on an A&E trolley which was very good of them! Tthey didn't have to do that but
they realised how much Pain I was in. Well, it turns out it isn't just this Ward that has Covid / Noravirus it seems there are quite a few involved both in the New Building and the Old Building! So I wonder if Vince caught his from the flight or the other Ward. It could have been anywhere.
They are deep cleaning all over and as this includes the Scanner Suites then they are out of action until, at least, after the weekend! Vince took another Test today and has yet again tested positive. He was disappointed because he is starting to feel a bit better, although very tired still! It's 6 & half a dozen whether I stay here or go home. However if I leave here now, I will loose my place in the queue for scanner and I have still to have the Heart Trace.
I do hope everyone has a great weekend. Oh my son texted earlier and his wife and him are putting together a surprise parcel and will hand it in at teatime!
