im terrified of the dentist-its always been a big deal but I think I need to go. Is there anything specific I should think about?

Only thing mentioned to me was blood thinners. Do you take any?

Apart from that, I found that the fear far outweighed the reality. It was  piece of cake. I think that once you've been through enough cancer treatment, nothing else can really bother you.

  • Hi Divine Mrs M, I read your profile where you mention you have had Immunotherapy. I know that my immunotherapy instructions say I must tell the dentist what meds I’ve been on. I’ve been a few times to the dentist while on it, nothing was different, I think they have to make a note to check if anything they give you could interact badly.

    Take care KT

  • My recent experiences with dentists is they check what meds you are oneach time. I am on denosimab injections once per month , which are bone strengthening meds because of bone mets. Denosimab can affect the jaw so the dentist is aware of that. About two months ago I had to have a filling, and could not have my denosimab injection for a month before and one month after the treatment, which seemed a bit dramatic, but I do as I am told by the cancer support team who administer the jab. I guess asking your team at the hospital if there is anything you need to make the dentist aware of is the best bet. As says, after all the other stuff we go through, the dentist seems benign. Good luck

  • Thanks. I did think that but nope still scares the sh** out of me!

  • Ah ok thanks. Ill check there too then

  • Oh do they? Rofl I better go read...thanks for the info
