My apologies for my recent absence from our little community – there are two reasons.

Firstly, I was quite deeply offended at the recent unnecessarily heavy-handed manner in which the powers that be dealt with our “offensive” behaviour – I think they maybe should recognise the specific circumstances that bring us together in this place and cut us a little slack…

Secondly, whilst all of that palava was unfolding, I was also going thru the Scanxiety nightmare of my 9 month test & scans and whilst the CT Thorax/Abdo/Pelvis report was Stable Mable, the CT Brain reported 3 mets which, as many of you know, in late-stage SCLC usually signifies the beginning of the end…

And so it probably is but my Oncs are not letting me go without a proper “tear-up” as the proposed new treatment is RT Brain (planning session next Weds at CUH), followed by a second go on the original chemo of Carboplatin/Etopside (which apparently is effective at crossing the brain/body threshold) and continuing with the Atezolizumab. He even said that there are “other” possible treatments after that…

It is quite interesting in that SCLC is usually not treated with Atezo and coupled with the incredible response since diagnosis, my onc said that all normal bets are off because this is new territory, even for them… We’ll see…

Much Love & Huge Hugs

Stay Strong

SiT

  • I enjoyed the story. I definitely will not get one now. Also I got my trusty old bicycle out of the garage tyres pumped up and oiled and I could get up the hills using an easy gear fine .

sounds that you are eventually pleased with your purchase though x

  • We bought ours through a shop, they had the hassle of setting it up, usually my OH will deal with all bike stuff, but electronics etc are a bit much. Weve since found a social enterprise bike shop that has dealt with all other upgrades, so we are happier paying them than Evans, who are now owned by sports direct I believe.

Glad you got your bastard working though SiT, it's certainly occupied you for a while!

  • I think your choice of name is quite generous given the trouble it gave you. I'd have gone much harder Laughing

Once I found the bike shop, they had an option to deliver the bike there for assembly - DOH!!!!

  • Hi SiT, Now you be careful out there! A flatpack wardrobe I think most people could manage but then you don't take it for a spin, putting your life and limbs in it's hands! What, may I ask, made you think of ordering it from abroad! After all Halfords etc have click and collect! Good luck on your B.....ike! (Oh sorry, I dont even want to type the word!) You ciuld have called it BOB as you will bob in and out the pot holes in it!

I would love one but don't think I would be able to use it. I used to cycle 3 times a week in the summer  too and from the local tennis club!

    Love Annette x

  • Hi

Maybe someone has already answered this but you will be able to buy a pre assembled e bike. Simon was buying it in kit fashion. Don't give up on buying one.

    Tvman xx

    Love life and family.
  • Ah , if you had only spent a few bob more you would have saved yourself a lot of hassle. Although I am indebted to you for giving me a mental image of you riding along almost hidden from view by a hundred cable ties. Thanks Simon.
