Here's your new thread for September!
Morning Chelle
Thank you for your kind words. I have some heavyweight pain relief so going to sleep is not too difficult! Worst part is getting out of bed, takes me about five minutes to do that!!
My eldest daughter is supportive but she has had two caesarians and is not that sympathetic!!! I was telling the recovery nurses about the effects of my hormone therapy as I was having a hot sweat - didn’t get much sympathy there either!
Hope you have a lovely weekend
Stay positive, be strong

Sorry you are in pain KrisPy but home is the best place to be. Nothing like your own bed and pillow. Stella Winston makes me laugh, who knew cats could be so jealous. Has Alfie settled in the new house Chelle, my dogs hate change. They were all sulking when we got back from Portugal. Although the house sitter had a list of instructions, she did not walk the dogs every day like I asked her to. Will never use her again. How is Lilly getting on Angie. Hope everyone is well. Have you been out Stacey? Good weekend.

Hi Stella, sounds like Winston has a bit of the devil in him. Does he stay in at night? I wouldn't like to be walking in the dark and be confronted by Winston with a scowl on his face and look like he's saying "Don't even attempt to walk past me, chum!"
I think I've spoken here about a cat we used to have that seemed nicey nicey to visitors, allowing people to stroke him and then sneakily sinking his teeth into them lol.
I was walking out of my veg plot one day (it's at the top of my garden and surrounded by hedging with a nice arch for going in and out of) and he (Meesha) was hiding behind the hedge. He ambushed me, half way up my leg and I remember seeing my legs in front of my eyes before hitting the ground hard.
He was either mischievous or had a bit of the devil in him, I'd say the latter!!

Hi Leelaloo
Alfie is loving his new home, especially the garden. I know what you mean though about them being unsettled when you have been away. We go for 12 days in November, and I already have anxiety about leaving him. I know he’ll be very safe, and he has stayed there before, but I know when we get back it will take a few days for him to settle again.
Glad Alfie is settling in. Is your garden bigger than the original one. Where are you going in November? I also hate leaving my dogs and now I have my canaries who I love too.

Hi Lee,
I haven't been out at all other than my appointments. I don't go too far away from our driveway when I take Macy out for a walk. I'm just stuck in this endless funk, and I'm sure I'll be even more depressed when I miss the concert on Friday, but I'm just not ready for that yet.
I'm hoping that if I start getting into painting or drawing, it'll help fill the void during the day. I've been looking at large kits on Amazon, and art tables that will allow the front of my wheelchair to fit under okay, versus using an easel. As Stella suggested, maybe I can paint or draw Macy, but I'd be ahead to use a photo of her, unless she's sleeping, otherwise she won't sit still for me. Speaking of pets, how are Rip and Beth doing?
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Hi Leelaloo
the garden is a little bigger, but it is also more established than our old property, which was a new build. We are going on a cruise in November to the Canary Islands. My brother and his wife are joining us.
Stacy I am sorry you are not able to go very far at the moment. Your world must seem very small, and I agree going to the concert will be too overwhelming for you, too soon I think. You need to build it up with little trips first.
I hope the painting goes well for you. I am not artistic at all, but I do appreciate art. Maybe a trip to a gallery may be a starting point for your days out. X
Hi Stacy I am sure you will go out when you feel ready to. I think I would be a bit daunted by a concert as well. I think painting/drawing would help. When I did the paint by numbers I concentrated so hard I forgot about everything else. I am going to do another one in the winter. My dogs would never sit still for me to paint them either so a photo of Macy sounds good. Rip and Beth are molting at the moment. When they molt you have to give them colour food so they keep their orange colour. Who knew? When I got my birds I inherited the man who bred them. His name is Roger and he is 82. He does not live far away and he likes coming around to see them and have a chat. I think he is lonely and I enjoy his company. I brought him a bottle of wine back from Portugal so he is coming around tomorrow, to see the birds of course I did not know I would get so attached to birds, but I love them. Your cruise sounds nice Chelle, unfortunately I get sea sick even on the Med. Who is going to look after little Alfie? You can bring him to me, he would fit in with my bunch. Hope everyone is doing okay.

Good morning
Tvman Winston hates all cats but loves people. He just like attention and wants to be the centre of the universe
Chelle a cruise to the canary island sounds lovely. I found cruise is more relaxing as only need to pack and unpack once. If I am feeling tired, I can just stay onboard. Also no need to worry about finding a restaurant at night.
Lee I did not know about the coloured food.So what are they eating right now? Oranges ?
Stacy I watched someone doing Christmas card with water colour. I had a go and it was not too bad but took a lot longer than I thought. Maybe you can make personalised Christmas cards?
KrsiPy hope you are feeling better and stronger today.
Going to look around a farmer’s market then Sunday lunch with friends xx
How lovely that Roger comes to see the birds, and have someone to chat with too.
If you had lived nearer I would take you up on the offer of having Alfie. He goes to a pet sitter, he’s been going since he was 8 months old so he is used to it, but this is the longest we would have left him.
