Hi all

Here's your new chit-chat thread for June!

  • Morning Chelle, I  know many of us struggle with this weather and I pray everyone manages it the best way they can, I adore the lovely weather, and sadly we'll be lucky to see 20⁰ where we're going, it's still forecast lots of sunshine. does anyone know where this was taken?,

    love Eddie and Evie xx

  • Hmm. It looks like Mont Saint Michel, Eddie, so is it St Michael's Mount in the distance??? Can you get there from the Scilly Isles?

16° here at the moment Joy and we go home tomorrow.

    Rose

  • Hi Rose, an excellent guess, but your mention of routes to the Scilly's  should've been a big clue, how's the holiday been, hopefully lots of fun and precious memories, will your last day be extra special I hope so, xxx

  • Hi Susan,

How have you been holding up? Were you able to travel to see family, I believe at one point you were thinking of traveling?

The prosthetic experience is something that you can't put into words. They call it a prosthetic bucket, but to me it feels more like being stuck inside a turtle shell or a rigid back brace. Plus the effect it has on my phantom pain and trying to manage that, and mind you I've only worn it for an hour or two at most while they've been here with me as they figure out what adjustments it needs to get the fit right, and then they leave with it. Everything just wears me down, both mentally and physically.

Yesterday was my monthly post op interview that I've been doing which is now covering the fitting process. It's just an ongoing step by step process that takes forever...

  • Hi Eddie,

The view looks amazing! I hope everyone across the pond stays cool in the heatwave that you're having. One thing that a lot of the World Cup fans were talking about in their videos is how nice the AC is in some of our southern states that have intense heat and humidity. Locally we'll be back up into the upper 80's and low 90's here next week going into the 4th of July weekend.

  • I don’t recognise the view Eddie, but it looks beautiful. I am envious of your cooler weather there! We are expecting highs of 38 today.

I went to the supermarket very early this morning and treated myself to some sunflowers.

I have always loved sunflowers, but they have a deeper meaning now as they are the symbol for sarcoma.

  • I feel for you Patrick. I think we have a couple more days here before it should hopefully cool a little.

  • Hi Eddie

    I'm flummoxed!

Our last day is going well, thanks. Breakfast watching sea mist roll across the bay, followed by a swim, and the sea is now almost 17°. It felt balmy. In-laws for coffee, cake and chat. Eating out this evening. A grand day!

  • Hi Chelle, not much cooler where you are by all accounts, my sister is working from home in Bridgwater and moaning. At least we don't have to work.
