Hi all
Here's your new chit-chat thread for June!
Hope it helps you all feel connected, do let us know if you need any further support, we're here to help
Hi Lee,
How did the wine bottling go yesterday? That sounds like a fun activity to me, going to vineyards has always been a side hobby for my sisters and a couple of my friends. Vineyards have such peaceful settings. There's a wine movie called A Good Year that's always been a favorite of mine.
I'm more into college football, specifically the Buckeye's. I'm pretty sure you guys know what we refer to as football here, and what we call soccer is what you guys call football throughout Europe. I just think the World Cup has been an amazing experience for everyone, and I love picking different teams to root for during each game we have watched. I'm also a huge hockey fan. I've never really been into baseball, I just think it's super boring.
I thought about starting a blog in the past, I remember having that conversation on here. I was looking into platforms like Wordpress or Wix, and was looking at the blogs on here, but I think those can be edited or even deleted by others, which is kind of weird. Which is why I hesitated, that and part of me feels my blog would be too negative, such as getting lost in my thoughts or rambling on about what's bothering me, and I have no idea who would want to read about my venting and endless drama. I judge myself too hard sometimes, but it's a habit that I can't seem to break. I'm not totally against it, but I think I'd be trying to sound more positive about things, when deep down I'm not.
I feel so bad for my mom being here with me for so long, today will be 120 days that we've been here, from the day I was admitted before my surgery until now. My mom has left a few times to go home for various reasons and run errands, but she has been here every night. That number really takes a toll on me at times. You guys are right though, it finally feels like I'll be released in the near future. I know I'll be here past July 4th, which my niece and nephews are pretty happy about since they get to see the fireworks from here on the 3rd.
We've been in the mid to upper 70's here, and not as much rain as we had in May. That's kind of cool for us this time of year. The World Cup fans have been melting at some of the games given the extreme heat and humidity, so it's been quite a challenge for fans. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.
~Stacy
Hi Stacy
Glad to hear you are moving forward with your prosthesis and hope you will be able to get out of the hospital and have some fresh air soon.
I have watched some football games as I support England. But my husband is Scottish so he is not exactly English friendly :)
My favourite sport is tennis and I have managed to get tickets to the Wimbledon this year. Hope it is not going to be too hot or raining on the day.
I think even write a journal just for yourself would be good for your mental health as we probably try to be more upbeat for our families. You can decide on whether to publish it later on. X
Thank you Stacy, aside from your humorous and insightful look at the WM behind the scenes, your reasons for not being to totally invest in a blog are mindblowingly honest and pure. I am mentally still trying to get to where you are. You give everyone hope!
Patrick xx
