Welcome home Stella! I'm so glad you had a wonderful time on your trip, your roses look amazing! I hope your scan goes well on Monday!

I'm doing okay, I have my first prosthetic fitting scheduled for this coming Thursday on June 4. I'm glad I'm able to move onto the next part in this recovery, but there are concerns about whether or not it will increase my phantom pain. Just have to wait and see. The same prosthetist that made my right leg years ago at Hanger, is making this one, but none of the Hanger Clinics in Ohio have ever made a hemicorporectomy prosthesis, so he's been in touch with two other prosthetists who have experience in other states. I just need this next part of my recovery to go well, as I fear I'm nearing a mental breaking point after being stuck in this bed on the endless phantom pain roller coaster...

I love your vine roof Patrick, it must be very peaceful and cool under there in the summer. We've received 8.5 inches of rain since May 17, and now we're finally getting some much needed sunny weather for the foreseeable future.

look at those little cuties ! Alfie would just love to chase them around the garden. He had his groom yesterday, and is now looking a much slender self now all the curly hair has been removed. He looks more Jack russle now and less Shitzu .

Welcome home Stella, your roses are amazing and the lavender.  I have never had any success with growing lavender it just dies.  Good luck with your scan and ablation next week.  I am glad you are moving onto the next phase of your recovery Stacy.  I really wish your phantom pain would go away now, hopefully each day it will get a little better.  Lovely photos of your pooches Eddie.  Our pets are so precious to each of us on here.  Lovely place to sit Patrick and enjoy a nice cold beer.  I hope everyone has a good weekend.  We are going to Northampton tomorrow for a BBQ for my niece's birthday.  Waiting with bated breathe Rose.

Sideways gets her name from this poem:

We got her and her sister,  Tabitha from a local refuge. Two small black bundles of fur. While Tabitha understood immediately that they had found their home, Sideways had been so traumatised by constant medical attention for her respiratory issues that she spent 3 days and nights under the kitchen dresser and wouldn't let anyone touch her for months. She gradually started to follow her sister around as her confidence grew, but remained wary. During her first week with us, somehow I sensed that underneath she was an affectionate cat, who could blow your heart open,  and that put me in mind of Seamus Heaney's magical poem...hence, in hope, she was named Sideways!

Alas, Tabitha fell victim to a car, once traffic started up again after our first Covid lockdown, and so since then Sideways reigns supreme in our home. And my hope was well placed. She is a very affectionate cat, happiest on my husband's knees watching a nature programme,  and she even sits beside visitors to be part of the action. Lucky us!

And that's the tale of how Sideways got her name...

I am just resting and unpacking my suitcases. Winston is in good spirits and running around since I came back. Now exhausted himself and gone for a nap.
