Hi Patrick,
I'm not sure comfortable is the right word for me, but I'm trying to be as happy as I can be in the moment. I'm trying not to dwell on the choices I've made in the past, or what my life will be like in the future. Making the most of my current mobility and independence before it's gone. Not worrying about my future is easier said than done for me, but I do find old memories of my life before cancer comforting, and I enjoy talking about them. Those memories are like a short escape from my current day to day routine. The psychologist I go to weekly has helped me come to terms with and be more open about my possible future, and that's no easy task. I still find myself putting on a fake smile around my family and friends, but I'm doing that less and less.

Hi everyone, sorry I have not been around lately, as you know my son was in hospital back in December with that nasty flu and bad asthma but I am pleased to say he is much better and getting stronger every day.
I have had a hectic few weeks meeting all of my team, palliative nurses, district nurses etc. I also visited the local hospice and shall be attending there once a week.
I also wanted to get out of the way things like power of attorney and DNR so I could concentrate on living and relax knowing all my affairs are in order.
I am still doing quite well myself, although I have noticed I have to chew food up more as the cancer is in my oesophagus so I am eating all the foods I enjoy while I still can. I have my next scan on 26th January with results beginning of February.
I hope everyone had a good Christmas
Sending hugs to all
Sharon
Hello folks sorry I have not been updating recently last Monday went into the operation that lasted about 16 hours then I was in ICU for about a week. I’m out on a general ward now feeling much better but still quite weak and need about 4 people just to get out of the bed but over on the mend hopefully should be out soon in a week or two.
How is everyone doing? We didn’t have much snow once then is staying with my parents and doing pretty well playing with his cousin.
love ️ xx
How lovely to hear from you Stella. I am so glad to hear that you are on the mend after such a long operation. Hopefully you will be home soon and can recuperate in the comfort of your own home, there is nothing like your own bed and pillow. Glad Winston is enjoying playing with his cousin. Take care and sending you the most gentle of hugs. xxx

Hi Sharon, glad you got the important stuff sorted. Are you having treatment for swallowing issues? I had radiotherapy last year for laryngeal cancer and was having difficulty eating anything. It worked out for now and am now eating normally. Glad your boy is okay. I think maybe you spoil him?

Stella it is lovely to hear from you! I’m so glad the op went well. It sounds like a long recovery for you, but hope you will be home with Winston soon. I bet he is having a great time with your parents. X
